Tenuta la Tenaglia

SERRALUNGA DI CREA (AL)

The wine-growing estate of Tenuta Tenaglia is situated in one of the loveliest places of Monferrato, between Asti and Casale, in a favorable position at about 450 m. above sea level and at the edge of the national park of the Santuario di Crea, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Right in this area Giorgio Tenaglia, governor of Moncalvo and mercenary captain, founded in the 17th Century an estate to grow his beloved Barbera grapes and to give himself an “oasis of wine” to drink and relax with, before and after battles. Over the centuries the estate has been expanded and modernized; today it encompasses about 30 hectares of vineyards, of which about 19 in the Alessandria province (in the villages of Serralunga di Crea and Ponzano) and about 11 in the Asti province, in the village of Grazzano Badoglio, bought in 2004 and entered in production in 2006.
