The Land

The land to create Monferace

The lands of Monferrato were formed by sedimentation of debris in the seabed, when between 5.5 and 3 million years ago these lands were covered by the sea. The legacy of the lower Pliocene is still today a great geological and mineral wealth, as well as shells and fossil remains of whales, marine animals and corals.

The production grounds of Monferace are clayey limestone, compact, rich in silt, characteristics that give the wine a greater potential for structure and aging. Each hill has its soil and its soil balance; each hill gives its unique and unrepeatable wine.

It is the concept of cru, of a diversity that is found inside each bottle and that for the producers of Monferace is a value to defend and communicate.
