An alliance of passions

First of all Monferace is a pact among winegrowers, entrepreneurs, men and women who live, breathe and love this land: the Monferrato. An alliance that unites common passions and aims: to increase the awareness of being a unique territory capable of an important tourist welcome.

For this reason we are speaking about a “territorial project” and not just about a wine. The Monferace Project involves all that geographical area identified in the Aleramic Monferrato, defined by the Po and Tanaro rivers and by the cities of Casale Monferrato, Alessandria and Asti. A land rich in history and mysteries, vineyards and castles, small Romanesque churches and paths worship, “infernot” and “casot”, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco and for this reason a destination for tourists from all over the world.

The offer includes food and wine, culture, art, nature, open air activities and sports (trekking, cycling). The position is strategic, too. The Monferrato is located in the centre of the triangle Milan-Turin-Genoa, it is easily accessible by highway from the three centres and from the airports of Turin, Malpensa, Linate and Cuneo.

It’s a project of a group of courageous winegrowers who, for years, have loved, believed and invested in the ups and downs of vineyards between Casale Monferrato, Alessandria and Asti. They want to restore dignity to a wine that for centuries was loved and sought after in all Italian and European courts, by kings and famous people.

Thus the wine-making philosophy is inspired by the past: it is necessary to wait patiently for years and a barrel passage before this grape variety best expresses its nobility and elegance.
